MLB merchandise used as survey prizes
Time is running out to enter our User Survey with the chance to win a swag bag of slightly random but official MLB goodies – including an official London Series baseball!

Fantasy Baseball UK User Survey

It’s the last couple of weeks remaining to enter the survey. We’re celebrating 15 years of the fantasy league and we’d like to get feedback about the game from players past and present. By completing the survey you will help us understand more about the people playing Fantasy Baseball UK, what they like about the game and where we might improve. As a thank you, there’s also the option at the end to enter a prize draw to win some MLB goodies including something from the 2019 London Series!

The survey is open until 31 August.

Win a MLB Spring Training experience in Florida

The national development agency for the sports, BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK), is running an exclusive online auction where baseball and softball fans in both the UK and overseas can bid to win a choice of two amazing experiences watching the Boston Red Sox or the Minnesota Twins at MLB Spring Training games in Florida in 2020.

Thanks to BSUK’s partnership with Lee County Sports Development, sports fans can combine a winter trip to the Florida sunshine in 2020 with exciting baseball action either at JetBlue Park, the Spring Training home of the Boston Red Sox or Hammond Park, the Spring Training home of the Minnesota Twins – both in Fort Myers, on Florida’s southwest coast.

The auction closes on 30 September.

Celebrate baseball’s homecoming with a unique T-shirt

Our friends at BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK), the national development agency for the sports, are supporting MLB to leave a legacy after the London Series. BSUK helped MLB run various participation events around the London Series, part of BSUK’s overall mission to increase participation in baseball and softball in this country.

Coinciding with the visit of MLB, BSUK also supported a festival on 7 July in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, commemorating the world’s first documented game of baseball, which took place in Walton in 1749. To celebrate the fact that ‘Baseball’s Coming Home’, BSUK has produced a limited edition T-shirt, on sale now!

FBUK All-Star Team of the Month: July

Based on fantasy points accumulated, here’s the month’s top performers at each position:

FBUK All-Star Team July 2019

Tampa Bay Rays catcher Travis d’Arnaud was a full 60 points ahead of the rest of his class in the catcher category in July, batting .425 with 8 home runs and 25 RBI including a three-homer game against the New York Yankees on 15 July.

For the second consecutive month Xander Bogaerts made the FBUK All-Star Team in the shortstop spot. Alongside him were two other Boston Red Sox players; outfielder Mookie Betts and third baseman Rafael Devers. The latter combined power and extra-base ability, batting .408 in the month with 9 home runs, 12 doubles and 34 RBI.

Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout made his second FBUK All-Star appearance of the season after slugging 13 home runs (including two multi-homer games) and 29 RBI.

First baseman Yulieski Gurriel of the Houston Astros also had a powerful and productive month, batting .437 with 12 home runs, 31 RBI and a slugging percentage of .847.

Fantasy Manager of the Month: July

Let’s face it, Ludo Basse is a bit of a stud when it comes to Fantasy Baseball UK. By racking up the most fantasy points from 1-31 July with his team Brinsonia, Ludo won his second Manager of the Month title of the season. By our counting, it’s his fourth monthly award overall since we began recognising it in 2016. Ludo will receive an an Oyo MLB minifigure for his efforts. Thanks to BaseballSoftballUK for supporting our prizes.

Manager of the Month July Top 5

Fantasy League Standings (top): Up to 17 August

With his second Manager of the Month performance of 2019, Ludo Basse has risen into first place in the Main Game with Brinsonia overtaking Brent Bentley‘s Carry On My Heyward Son. The previous time Ludo was Manager of the Month twice in a season was 2016 which was when he last won the Main Game (he was back-to-back champion in 2015-16), so the signs are promising for him at the moment after finishing runner-up last year.

There was also a lead swap in the $5m Game as Brian MatthewsScioscialessly Unhappy currently occupies pole position over Kev Mesher‘s The Brad Penny Pinchers. Having risen into the top ten of the Limited Trade Game in June, Bluemooners Too (James Davis) is shining above the rest at the moment.
